We came to architecture for different reasons but in the end we built a practice together in which we aspire to, and value, the same core ideas: discipline, rationality and modernism balanced with warmth, practicality and beauty.  We respect precedent and evolution, grounding each project in context while shaping spaces for contemporary life. 

It’s important to us that the  homes, buildings and spaces we design reflect a strong sense of place, that they are light-filled, functional, appropriate for contemporary life.  Our work is unified by a restrained sensibility and careful attention to how spaces are lived in and experienced. We explore design ideas in service of finding the clearest and most enduring solution for a site, program, and set of conditions—whether navigating tight urban constraints or designing coastal homes shaped by landscape, openness, and privacy.

This sounds straightforward, perhaps even technical, but it is not. It is what happens when two people speak the same architectural language and pursue the same question at the same time: the search for an answer becomes both rigorous and deeply intentional.

In a profession where architects can be famously driven by ego, we have built a practice that is client-focused; thoughtful, creative, original, and resourceful while remaining deeply collaborative, curious and straightforward. Our shared vision of both process and aesthetic lends the studio a rare sense of clarity and continuity. We are NCARB Certified and licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Texas. For us, the design process remains exploratory and iterative; no project begins with a predetermined outcome. Instead, each evolves through ongoing dialogue and sustained attention, approached with the same courtesy, knowledge, and care that have characterized the practice since its founding.
